Naomi Hirsch joined the Outreach team in 2003. She comes to the program with a great deal of outreach experience from previous experiences in forestry, horticulture, and fisheries. After receiving her B.S. in Forestry in 1990, her passion for educational outreach began when she was an agroforestry extensionist in Paraguay with the Peace Corps. She then worked in the field as a research assistant with the Peach and Almond Breeding Program at the University of California at Davis and later as the program coordinator for the statewide Fruit and Nut Research and Information Center working with researchers, cooperative extension and industry. She left California in 2000 and began working at OSU with Extension Sea Grant in community development. Naomi received her Master's degree in Adult Education in 2005. She is passionate in the areas of collaboration, community building, and creating engaging educational experiences around environmental health topics. |
