Daniel L. Sudakin, MD, MPH, FACMT, FACOEM, Director,
Dept. of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology

Daniel Sudakin, MD, MPH, FACMT, FACOEM, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology, and he has been a faculty member at Oregon State University since 2000. He is a physician trained and board certified in the subspecialty of Medical Toxicology as well as Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. He has a Master of Public Health with a focus in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. He holds clinical appointments as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, and he also serves on the volunteer clinical faculty of the Oregon Poison Control Center.


Mary L. Garrard, RN, MSN, Co-Director for Clinical Research, Environmental Health Sciences Center

Mary Garrard, RN, MSN has been the Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator for the Environmental Health Sciences Center since 2006. She has Bachelors of Science degrees in Biology and Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing. Ms. Garrard has extensive professional experience as a Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator with fifteen years conducting human clinical research trials at Oregon Health & Science University and the Portland VA Medical Center, in the Departments of Women’s Health and Gastroenterology.

 

 

Clifford B. Pereira, PhD, Co-Director for Statistics
Department of Statistics

Clifford Pereira, PhD has been the Director of the Statistics Facility Core since 1986. Dr. Pereira’s educational background includes Bachelor’s (microbiology) and Master’s (avian ecology) degrees in Biology with dissertations at each level wherein he gained direct laboratory and field research experience. His background in both biology and statistics contributes greatly to his understanding of biological research issues, his interest in the research problems and his efficient communication with the researchers. Dr. Pereira’s statistical interests are in the application of statistics to biological problems. Specifically, his expertise includes 1) study design and data analysis for both randomized experiments and sampling studies, 2) quantitative assessment and comparison of study designs, 3) analysis of data with complex error structures commonly encountered in biological research and 4) statistical consulting.
